WEDDINGS
Cameron—Eldridge
The marriage of Roma Valerie, youngest daughter of Mrs. Eldridge and the late Mr. Charles Eldridge, of Narrandera, to Hillary Owen (Johnny), youngest son of Mr. Reuben Cameron, of Leeton, took place at St. Thomas' Church of England, Narrandera, on Saturday, 5th November. The Rev. A. J. Withers officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, wore a frock of lace and tulle with fitted bodice and high neck line, the full tulle skirt ending in a long train, Her tulle veil was mounted on a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of miniature gladlolis, maiden-hair fern and tulle for something old, the bride wore a lovely crystal necklace which belonged to her aunt, Mrs. J Husson, of Sydney. The bride was attended by a friend, Miss Betty Woolnough, who chose a frock of pink lace and tulle over taffeta, made with tight-fitting waist line, and full tulle skirt and a matching hat of pink grosgrain. She also wore a gold pendant with pink stone, the gift of the bridegroom, and she carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas, maidenhair fern and tulle. Little Marjorle Taylor, of Leeton, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl, in a frock of blue spotted tulle over taffeta with a fitted bodice and full tulle skirt. She wore a matching blue tulle hat and a gold locket, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a bouquet similar to that of the bridesmaid.
The best man was Mr. Clarrie Taylor, of Leeton. During the signing of the register Mr. H. Matthew, in a pleasing manner, sang "O Promise Me." The reception was held in the R.S.L. Hall, where about 70 guests were received Mr. Keith Vindin carried out the duties of chairman, and after the usual toasts had been honoured and congratulatory telegrams read, the bride and bridegroom cut a beautiful three-tier cake, which was made by the bridegroom's sister. Mrs. Clarrie Taylor, of Leeton.
The bride were a pale blue crepe frock with white accessories when she and the bridegroom left by car for Orange, where the honeymoon was spent. The future home of Mr. and Mrs Cameron will be in Narrandera.
